| Here's a Wagon that's going to drive restorationist Yinnies mad. Myself, I think that Charley Crossley is an automotive genius. I doubt that there's one other person on Planet Earth that has ever considered remodeling a Wagon into a convertible with a rumble seat. Heck, until I saw these photos, I thought that the sun roof in my Wagon was a little avant garde. His execution looks flawless, doesn't it?

| MY WILD WILLYS HOWDY...... MY NAME IS CHARLEY CROSSLEY. I CAME ACROSS YOUR SITE THIS MORNING WHILE I WAS LOOKING FOR SOME DOOR LATCH PARTS FOR MY 1950 WILLYS, IT'S MY KIND OF SITE!!!! I'M THINKING MY OLD HACK MIGHT BE WEIRD ENOUGH FOR YOU. [You bet, Charley! - E.O.] THE WAGON STARTED OUT AS A COMPLETE AND WELL PRESERVED CLUNKER. THE FIRST TIME I SAW IT ,THE JEEP WAS ON JACK STANDS (SINCE 1973). ANYWAY TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORTER, MY WIFE HAD BEEN WANTING A STREET ROD BUT SOMETHING DIFFERENT. WELL HERE IT IS, ALMOST ANYWAY, WE ARE ABOUT TWO WEEKS AWAY FROM COMPLETION. I STARTED OUT BY WHACKING THE TOP OFF AND GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE METAL ON BOTH THE BODY AND THE FRAME. I THEN NARROWED THE REAR FRAME RAILS AND HUNG IN A 4:10 DANA 70 ON THE ORGINAL SPRINGS. I KEPT MOST OF THE FRONT AXEL BY LOSING THE PUMPKIN AND AXEL SHAFTS AND RETUBING WITH A BUILT IN 3" DROP AND COMPLETED WITH POWER RACK AND PINON AND NEW OEM SPRINGS. THE REAR WHEELS ARE CUSTOM BUILT SMOOTHIES, 15 X 15 WITH BABY MOONS AND RINGS. THE FRONTS ARE 8 X 15'S. TO STAY WITH THE "JEEP" THEME WE WENT WITH MUDZILLAS ALL AROUND, 31'S ONTHE FRONT, 36'S ON THE BACK. TO COMPLETE THE ROLLING CHASSIS WE DROPPED IN 355 CI CHEVY. OH, IT HAS A WIEND 671 BLOWER AND ENDERLY BUG CHATCHER INJECTION. ON METHANOL IT DYNOED AT 822 HP! WE HAVE OPTED FOR GASOLINE, MY WIFE IS GOING DRIVE IT TO WORK, SHE'S A SCHOOL TEACHER. BEHIND THE LITTLE MOUSE MOTOR IS A TURBO 400. ( BY THE WAY, IT ALL FITS UNDER THE HOOD.) YOU MIGHT HAVE NOTICED THAT I ROLLED THE BACK AND ADDED A RUMBLE SEAT. I ALWAYS WANTED ONE, THAT'S WAY. I DROPPED THE REAR FENDERS AND TUBBED THE INNER. NEW FRONT GLASS. OAK WAS ADDED INSIDE AND OUT. ALSO A FULL SET OF AUTO METER ELECTRIC GAUGES, B&M QUICK SILVER SHIFTER , AND TILT WHEEL WERE ADDED. WORK GOES ON!!!!!! I HAVE BEEN BUILDING, RACING, REPAIRING MONSTER TRUCKS FOR ABOUT 23-24 YEARS. THIS IS OUR "FUN" PROJECT. HA HA. THANKS, HOPE YOU ENJOY THE PICTURES.
